Announcing a technological breakthrough
resulting in a substantial increase in the maximum available
AMBORITE AMB90 disc diameter. This increase takes the disc from 60mm
to 101.6mm, which represents a 287% proportional increase in usable
surface area of PCBN. This increase in area offers the toolmaker the
benefit of greater product yields from a single disc, increasing
with required blank size.

In addition to the improvement in yield
and disc utilization, the 101.6mm AMBORITE AMB90 disc also gives the
toolmaker the advantage of requiring less product inventory as well
as greater laser cutting productivity (more product in one set-up.)

Laser Stitching Service
The new 101.6 mm AMBORITE AMB90 disc is also availbale in a
lsaer stitched format - a new concept. The Laser
Stitching Service involves the disc being cut from both
sides using lasers. the laser cuts do not actually meet, which
enables the customer to snap off the individual blanks as required.
Standard grinding techniques can be used in tool production.
This service enables toolmakers to
purchase a whole disc and specify the product mix required. Then a laser stitches the disc to the toolmaker's specifications and
supplies the complete laser sticthed disc. Individual blanks can
then be broken away from the disc as and when they are required,
thus giving the toolmaker the optimum utilization of the disc area.
