PCBN (Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride) is second in hardness only to diamond. It is used in the rough and finish machining of hard ferrous materials and cast irons.

The manufacturing process is similar to PCD disc manufacturing utilizing high temperature and pressure sintering. The formats and process used in PCBN tool manufacture are similar to PCD tool manufacture.
